Childbirth Classes

Community Medical Center offers patients FREE access to a variety of perinatal education classes virtually. All classes are live, so patients have the opportunity to learn from and interact with certified and experienced childbirth educators.

How to give access to outside medical records?

To give Community Medical Center access to outside medical records, you will need to provide authorization to release medical records from your current medical provider (s). Please complete the form and send it to your current provider for processing.

Can you request a copy of a patient's medical record?

Patients are permitted to review, comment upon and make amendments to their medical record. You may request copies of the finalized patient record. Please contact the Health Information Management Department.

How are messages sent to your provider's office transferred?

All messages sent to your provider’s office are transferred via a secure server compliant with HIPAA standards.

Can you access read only medical records?

At the hospital patient portal, you can access read-only medical information through our secure server. This includes educational materials, information on your current medications, allergies, immunizations, health issues, and lab test results. All information is pulled directly from your electronic health records. Due to the sensitive nature of radiology and pathology test results, these are not available on the patient portal and must be obtained through the hospital’s Health Information Department.

Is RWJBarnabas Health a centralized portal?

RWJBarnabas Health is in the process transitioning all of our hospitals to a centralized patient portal called MyChart where all hospitals’ records will eventually be contained within one system for your convenience. Please be assured that you will always have access to your medical records.

Is CMC free for dependents?

Available at no cost to CMC staff and all members of their household. That includes dependent children up to age 26, whether or not they live at home. Services are confidential and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services Include:

Do you have to report sick time on timecards for Community Medical Center?

Community Medical Center exempt (salaried) employees are not required to enter hours worked on their timecards. However, before the end of each pay period, they are required to report leave taken during the pay period (sick time, vacation time, personal time off (PTO) or floating holiday).
