Call the member services number on your health insurance card. Tell the insurance company the name of your child’s Essex Pediatrics doctor. If you have just had a baby, call your insurance company immediately to add your infant to your policy.

How long does it take to notify insurance company of changes?

If your insurance plan or carrier changes, it is your responsibility to notify our office. If our office is not notified of insurance changes within 30 days of filing a claim, the account holder will be held responsible for the charge.

When to call a pediatrician?

What happens when you get your pre-admission form?

When you receive the pre-admission form from the hospital, you will be asked to list your pediatrician. When your baby is born, the hospital will automatically call our office with the information regarding your child. This phone contact notifies the doctor to see your child during morning rounds.

When is urgent care scheduled?

For urgent visits, appointments may be scheduled after 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, and after 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. The office will close at different times based on patient volume, so call early to make sure you get an appointment.

We do often have a waitlist for individual counseling, but run regular therapy groups for a variety of needs that do not have a waitlist.

Do you need an appointment to see a child at a pharmacy?

We do require an appointment for your child to be seen. Please call us during office hours to schedule a visit. When scheduling a sick visit, please call early in the day and ask to speak with a nurse . This will help us to see your child during office hours and before pharmacies close.

Is Essex Pediatrics open on Thanksgiving?

Essex Pediatrics is available for you 365 days a year! (We are closed for appointments on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but a provider is still available through our answering service.) Urgent visits are available during the evenings and on weekends.
