What are the patient portals and how do they work?

Our patient portals are a convenient way to securely view your personal health information and interact with Penn State Health. They play a key role in your heath care - providing a 24/7 connection to the information you need to make better decisions.

How do I sign up for the Health Information Management Portal?

Parents and caregivers of younger patients should contact our Health Information Management team at 717-531-1697 to sign up for portal access (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays).

Is there a patient portal for Holyoke Medical Center?

The system is running in the background supporting that priority. This portal is for all Holyoke Medical Center and Holyoke Medical Group services and practices. Who can use the Penn State Health Portal?

A patient will use this portal, if you have been hospitalized at Hampden Medical Center, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center or St. Joseph Medical Center. Most patients who attend a Penn State Health Medical Group in Dauphin and Cumberland counties will use this portal. Please call your outpatient clinic to verify.

When can a child access their medical records?

On the child's 18th birthday , parental or guardian access to online medical records will be terminated. The child will be able to initiate their own account for access to their electronic health record during their next office visit. Federal HIPAA law requires privacy of health records at age 18.

Can parents get a copy of medical records from Penn State?

As always, parents and guardians can contact their family physician to discuss their child's medical situation, and can contact Penn State Hershey Medical Records office to obtain paper copies of medical records by providing proper identification.

What is MyHaysMed portal?

MyHaysMed patient portal gives you direct online access to portions of your electronic medical record where your health care provider stores your health information. Your diagnostic test results, appointment information, prescription medications, immunizations, and more are all securely stored in this electronic record for quick retrieval.

How old do you have to be to have access to a patient portal?

For access to a minor patient’s Patient Portal, a parent or legal guardian may be granted full access until the minor reaches age twelve (12) . On the patient’s twelfth (12th) birthday, the parent or legal guardian’s access will automatically be terminated.
