What is NCH care?

NCH believes that good health care begins with patient choice. We are dedicated to providing the best care and experience for all of our patients and visitors. What time does the hospital open for general units?

General units: 12:00—6:00 p.m., one (1) visitor per patient at a time

How many visitors are allowed to visit the hospital lobby?

General visiting is limited to two visitors, age 12 and over, per patient at a time (Except Birthplace, NICU and Pediatrics).

Can you visit a family room at the hospital?

Common gathering rooms such as family rooms are not available . The cafeteria is available to visitors in need of nourishment. Dining restrictions will apply.

Is NCH allowing limited visitation?

As the number of COVID hospitalizations continue to decrease at NCH, we will once again be allowing limited visitation by the family members and loved ones of our patients at any of the restricted times shown below for the following areas:

How do I log into the Portal? To log into the Portal, visit the website of any NCH af­fliate. Click the link to enter the Portal then enter your user name and password. (See enrollment informa­tion below.)

1. VISIT any NCH affiliate website. 2. CLICK on the Patient Portal link. 3. COMPLETE the enrollment form with your name, date of birth, social security or medical record number and email address. 4. CHECK your email for a confirmation and click on the provided link to the Portal. 5.

Where does my health information in the Portal come from?

Where does my health information in the Portal come from? All of the information in the Portal is aggregated from the Electronic Health Records of all NCH affiliates and providers that you have or are scheduled to see. You have one single electronic record. This ensures access to the most accurate, up-to-date information possible.

Is my password safe on my portal?

Is my information safe? Yes . Portal passwords are encrypted and URLs are re-writtern so that they cannot be copied and pasted. You and authorized family members are the only ones who can access your Portal. Also, a timeout feature protects your information if you happen to leave the Portal page open.

What is the next of kin for a deceased patient?

Next of kin requesting copies of a deceased patient’s medical record will need to upload a PDF or TIF copy of the official death certificate. Next of kin begins with the surviving spouse. If there is no spouse, the request can be made by an adult member of the deceased patient’s immediate family.

Is there a fee for a copy of a patient's medical record?

After the patient reviewed their record, there will still be a fee for receiving copies of their record. However, there is no fee when the records are sent directly to another healthcare provider for the purposes of continuity of care.
