What information does Oregon Medical Group need to Bill my insurance?

After your visit, Oregon Medical Group will bill your insurance carrier on your behalf. In order to do this, we will need a copy of your insurance card with complete and accurate information about your health plan. We will also need your full name, address, phone number, date of birth and insurance identification number.

When will Oregon Medical Group provide a good faith estimate?

If your appointment is scheduled three to nine (3 to 9) days from the date of a request for an appointment with us, Oregon Medical Group will provide a written good faith estimate of expected charges prior to the services. You should expect to receive a letter sent via first class mail or a printable estimate through your Patient Portal.

Is the old patient portal still available?

Our former patient portal in still available, so you can get to your health information and pay your bills. The current portal will only have information and bills for services that took place before February 1, 2022.

Because our labs are dedicated to OMG patients, results are very fast , and your physician is able to easily discuss results with a lab specialist. All OMG clinics have on-site labs.

How to get a copy of lab results in Oregon?

Please contact your provider to get copies of your lab results. You may also request copies of your lab results by completing the patient requesting results from lab form. Bring the completed form to the lab with identification. Please note that Oregon law requires the lab to wait 7 days from the time we receive your request before sending a written copy.

How long does it take to fast for water?

Fasting means nothing to eat or drink except water for 8-12 hours. This includes lozenges, hard candy, gum and all other beverages.

Do you need an appointment for a glucose tolerance test in Oregon?

However, some clinics prefer you to schedule an appointment in advance. The few tests that do require an appointment are 2 and 3 hour Glucose Tolerance tests.

Can you walk in to OMG?

We are not accepting walk-ins at all OMG clinics.

What happens to the balance after insurance has paid?

The balance remaining after your insurance has paid results from any unpaid copayments, coinsurance, or unmet deductibles according to your benefit plan with your health insurance carrier. Please contact your health insurance carrier directly if you have questions about the health services that your insurance plan may or may not cover, or about any amount that they have applied to your patient responsibility.

How does Medicare Advantage work?

Medicare Advantage plans help you and your provider work together to keep you healthy through prevention, care coordination and disease management. More than 11,000 Oregon Medical Group patients are benefiting from Medicare Advantage plans.

What happens if you delinquent on your insurance?

If any part of the balance becomes delinquent, then the account balance may be forwarded to an outside agency for collection. Please note that the timeline for insurance processing varies by the insurance company. You may not immediately receive a bill because of that.

If any of the information is incomplete or incorrect it could result in a denial from your insurance carrier. The accuracy of this information is the patient’s responsibility, therefore you could be held responsible for the balance if your carrier denies it due to inaccurate or incomplete information.

When is OMG payment due?

Payment for your visit and services is due at the time of service, including co-payments, co-insurance, and unmet deductibles. If we are unable to provide you with the total for the portion of the visit that is not covered and that you must pay “out of pocket,” OMG will bill you. Your payment is due in full when you receive the statement. There are several ways to pay:

Can OMG bill you separately?

Your OMG provider may have ordered medical services from another medical facility . The group completing the testing will bill you and your insurance separately from Oregon Medical Group. Examples of items or procedures that you may receive a separate bill for include surgery, anesthesia, labs, hospital or surgery center, and any durable medical equipment (braces, crutches, etc.) If you have questions about the billing from non-OMG medical facilities, please contact that provider using the information on the statement you received.
