New Jersey Charity Care Under the State of New Jersey’s Charity Care Program, Saint Peter’s University Hospital provides free care or care for reduced charges to a patient who qualifies, regardless of race, age, religion, national origin, gender or any other grounds unrelated to the patient’s need for service.
Saint Peter's University Hospital is sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. Saint Peter's is a state-designated children's hospital and a regional perinatal center, and is a major clinical affiliate of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and an affiliate of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
There are two ways to sign up for a Patient Portal account: Visit a St. Peter’s Health location and fill out a Patient Portal Registration form. You must sign and complete ID verification in person Sign up for a Patient Portal online. IMPORTANT NOTE: An email must reside on your medical record in order for this to succeed.
Your log on ID and password can be reset by using the links on the Patient Portal logon page. This will also unlock a locked Patient Portal. When these requests are made the information entered must match your Patient Portal account. If you need assistance, please contact Patient Portal Support.
An individual Patient Portal Registration Form is a legal document completed by by an adult patient giving St. Peter's Health permission to create a Patient Portal.

To get a list of required documents to complete a Charity Care application, please contact financial counselors in our Resource Services Department at 732-745-8600, extension 5019. When all of your documents are gathered, contact our financial counselors to schedule an appointment.
Your hospital bill does not include the fees of your physician (s) such as radiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists and emergency medicine physicians.
