Hospitalists: Hospitalists are dedicated to caring for patients admitted into the hospital, with a few exceptions, such as obstetrics and orthopedics. Hospitalists have more expertise in caring for complicated hospitalized patients on a daily basis and also have more time to meet with family members, follow up on tests, answer nurses' questions, and to deal with problems that may arise.
