Level III Trauma CenterThe Texas Department of Health Services has designated TMC as a Level III Trauma Center, which means we have met stringent criteria for providing advanced emergency services to victims of motor vehicle accidents, heart attacks and other trauma.

Visitors are allowed to be with patients during visiting hours (5:30 am – 9 pm), except in certain circumstances. Visitors must wear a mask at all times. Your mask must fully cover your nose and mouth, even in a patient's room.

Level 1 trauma centerBeing at a Level 1 trauma center provides the highest level of surgical care for trauma patients. Trauma Center designation is a process outlined and developed at a state or local level.
There are 5 levels of trauma centers: I, II, III, IV, and V. In addition, there is a separate set of criteria for pediatric level I & II trauma centers. The trauma center levels are determined by the kinds of trauma resources available at the hospital and the number of trauma patients admitted each year.
Level 1 is for the most serious injuries, where trauma is often large and requires a fast response time. The lower levels focus on evaluating and stabilizing the person so that, if necessary, staff can transfer them to a higher level facility.
