What are the hours of visit at Athens Limestone Hospital?

Patient care is our primary concern at Athens-Limestone Hospital. In order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been recommended for each unit. Although visitors may visit at any time, recommended hours are 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Visits by children are permitted, but please consider our patient's needs and safety and keep visits brief. Intensive Care Unit hours are posted at the entrance of the department. If you need additional information, please check with the nurse on the unit.

What to bring to hospital for overnight stay?

Bring insurance card (s), driver's license, a list of all current medications, personal toiletries and night clothes for overnight stays. Do not bring valuables, jewelry or excessive cash with you. If absolutely necessary, valuables may be stored for safe keeping.

How can I qualify?

To find out if you qualify for financial assistance, please download and complete the Application Form / Solicitud and attach documents that prove income, assets or other available resources, as detailed in the Financial Assistance Guideline Letter.

Eligibility

We will determine financial assistance eligibility based upon income and asset guidelines and the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Approved applications apply to Huntsville Hospital Health System accounts only. Applicants will be notified by letter regarding their financial assistance application status.

Where is the CT scanner located in Athens?

Athens-Limestone Hospital has added an additional CT scanner, located conveniently across the street from the hospital, to help expedite care for outpatients. ALH Diagnostic Center, 101 Fitness Way, Suite 2400 , Athens , AL 35661, is available Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 5:30PM. We offer CT scans of the abdomen, head, spine, extremities, neck, vascular system and organs. CT can help diagnose cysts, blood clots, hemorrhages, infections, cancer and other diseases. The outpatient facility is a fast and easy location to get your outpatient testing completed without having the extended wait times that sometimes occur in the hospital due to emergency patients.

Does Athens Limestone Hospital do a biopsy?

In cases where a biopsy is recommended , Athens-Limestone Hospital has several options to offer you. Athens-Limestone is proud to offer stereotactic biopsy, mammotome and core needle biopsies. Stereotactic is a less invasive procedure to sample calcifications that may be seen on a mammogram.
