What is the number to call for after hours care?

After Hours, Hospital and Nursing Home Care. If you have a medical problem after our business hours and need advice simply call 304-469-2905 and you will be connected with the medical provider on call.

Does New River Health accept Medicare?

New River Health Association (NRHA) accepts private insurance, private pay, Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP and Tricare. If you are with a managed health plan please check with us to be sure we participate with your plan.

Virginia COVID Information Center

COVID vaccines: We are currently vaccinating all individuals age 12 years and older (individuals under the age of 18 need parental consent). Vaccines are free, provided at no cost to the individual. Please visit Vase+ Vaccine Appointments Scheduling or call your local health department to schedule a vaccine appointment.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

New River Health District offers drive-thru testing for COVID-19 (coronavirus) by appointment only. If you believe you are at risk, please call (540) 267-8240. As of April 1st, 2021, we will be available 8am-4:30pm M-F.

Why isn't all my health information on the portal?

Detailed medical records are too large for the portal. To get specific information from your medical records, as your provider or our Health Information Management team. Mental health records aren't available through the portal.

Why can't I see all of my child's health information on the portal?

To be compliant with Iowa law, proxy access to minors between the ages of 12 and 18 is limited to allergies, immunizations, appointments and scheduling. All other patient information can be obtained through our Health Information Department.
