How old do you have to be to enroll in UT Southwestern?
All new patients (18 years and older) to UT Southwestern will be automatically enrolled. If you are a patient and currently not using MyChart but wish to, simple contact your provider's clinic and they will enroll you.
How to reset MyChart password?
At the sign-in screen for MyChart click “Forgot password”. You will be asked for some information and then the password “hint” you created while enrolling will be emailed to you.
How does Hello Patient work?
Hello Patient works with the MyChart app on your smartphone to assist with the arrival and check-in process for your appointment. Hello Patient uses geographical location information to allow you to check in once you’ve arrived at your provider’s building. To use Hello Patient, you must have the MyChart mobile app installed on your smartphone.

To enroll in MyChart, ask a UT Southwestern provider during a visit. Our staff can help patients enroll, as well as set up authorizations to release lab results and respond to prescription renewal requests through MyChart.
Is MyChart secure?
Your MyChart personal health information is carried over a secure, encrypted connection. This secure connection utilizes industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption as well as server-side digital certificate authentication to ensure secure data transmission between you and UT Southwestern. To prohibit unauthorized access, all medical information is stored safely behind our firewall in our electronic medical record system.
Can I change my password at UT Southwestern?
Yes, you can. Please keep your password confidential, and do not share it with anyone else. You can change your password online at any time by logging into MyChart and selecting the "Change password" option under the My Account section. Your password is not known by anyone at UT Southwestern. I forgot my password.
How long is quarantine in Southwestern University?
Southwestern continues to require a 14 day quarantine for on-campus students. If you are in quarantine and develop symptoms, please call the Health Center at 512-863-1252.
What happens if you are identified as a close contact by an SU student who tested positive?
If you are identified as a close contact by an SU student who tested positive, you will be called by a contact tracer to determine if you need to quarantine.
How to notify the Health Center of a positive test?
If you test positive, notify the Health Center by calling 512-863-1252 during normal business hours. After hours, you may call 737-667-0705 to speak to a contact tracer. After notifying the Health Center, please email your positive test result to covidtesting@southwestern.edu .

Can a Pfizer mRNA test be negative?
COVID-19 mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) may cause false negative TB test results. If you are getting your COVID-19 vaccine this summer, be sure to get your TB test before or on the same day as your first dose of the vaccine, or wait 4 weeks after the second vaccine dose to get your TB test. The COVID-19 vaccine takes priority, so if you are not able to get your TB test before you arrive on campus, we will perform your TB test at the SU Health Center when you are eligible.

At that time, you will receive a letter with a unique one-time password. Once you have this letter, please visit myhealth.swhealth.org and select login using your email address and one-time password. Upon successful sign-in, you will be prompted to create your own secure password and setup security questions. Once you have completed this process, you can bookmark the myhealth.swhealth.org website and being using the Patient Portal to review your health records.

How to reset password on swhealth portal?
On the portal homepage, there is an ‘I forgot my password’ link in the Login box. Select that link and the system will prompt you for your email address. Type your address and select ‘Reset Password’; the system will then ask you to answer the two security questions that were chosen by you when you setup your account. Type your answers and submit. As long as your answers are correct, you will be asked to create a new password. If you need further assistance, please email portal@swhealth.org.
